Breeders’ Cup Classic odds favor Game On Dude
It’s game on in horse racing’s richest event and Game On Dude remains the early favorite on Breeders Cup odds menus.

The gelding will be making his third attempt to win the richest race run in the U.S. and is a comfortable early favorite on Breeders Cup odds menus at racebooks around America. The Bob Baffert trainee was seventh last year at Santa Anita and finished in the runner up spot in 2011 at Churchill Downs.
The gelding comes into this year’s Classic undefeated in five starts, last out winning the Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar on Aug. 25. The gelding will be ridden by Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith, the leading winner in races won and earnings in the Breeders’ Cup.
The co-second choices for those wanting to bet on horse racing lines at shops such as Bovada are Fort Larned and Will Take Charge at 5-1.
Fort Larned is the defending champion in the Classic, pulling off the upset last year at 9-1. The five year old has won two of his five starts this year, last out winning the Homecoming Classic at Churchill Downs in his final prep for a repeat in the Classic.
Will Take Charge will be facing older for the first time in the Classic. The D. Wayne Lukas trainee was beaten a combined 45 lengths in the Triple Crown races, but came back with three solid efforts.
Mucho Macho Man was the runner up behind Fort Larned in last year’s Classic and is coming into this year’s race in sharp form. Currently listed at 6-1 on the Bodog betting line, the five year old won the Awesome Again (G1) over the Santa Anita Park main track in his last outing.
Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Palace Malice is listed at 8-1 in Classic future odds. The Todd Pletcher trainee was second behind Ron the Greek in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) in his last start, which was his first outside of the three-year-old division.
Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, who won the Classic in 2011 with upset winner Drosselmeyer will saddle a pair of runners in this year’s running.
Ron the Greek is coming off a victory in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) and is currently listed at 12-1. Mott will also send out Flat Out, who is listed at 7-1 on the betting line.
Flat Out was third in the Classic last year and has won two of his seven starts this year, taking the Westchester (G3) and Suburban (G2). The seven year old was third in the Jockey Club Gold Cup in his last outing.
The Classic is the final of 14 Breeders’ Cup races that will be run at Santa Anita Park on Nov. 1-2. There will be $25 million in purses up for grabs over the two-day championship event.
