The Houston Texans are 0-6 ATS over their last six games and look to break out of that slump with a win and cover on the road against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.
Houston Texans vs. San Francisco 49ers: Betting odds, preview, trends and pick
San Francisco came to life in Week 4, just as Houston was dying a painful death at the hands of Seattle. The odds say the 49ers will beat the Texans, but the computer sees a cover.

The Texans are a 7-point road underdog, but they have limped to a 1-6 ATS mark in their last seven road games.
The Texans were their own worst enemy last week. Entering the half with a 20-3 lead over the Seattle Seahawks and a 20-6 lead at the end of the third quarter, the Texans coughed up their lead in the closing minutes throwing a pick-six with under three minutes to go to allow Seattle to tie the game. Instead of improving to 3-1 SU and 1-3 ATS, the Texans let the game slip away to fall to 2-2 SU and 0-4 ATS.
After two straight losses to Seattle and Indianapolis, the San Francisco 49ers appeared to find their wings last Thursday night with a 35-11 win on the road over the St. Louis Rams. Now 2-2 SU and ATS, the 49ers hope to get on a roll to stay in the hunt for the NFC West title.
San Francisco is 16-3-1 SU and 14-5-1 ATS in its last 20 games at home.
Both of these teams entered the season as Super Bowl favorites, and both have had consistency issues out of the gate. Colin Kaepernick failed to record a passing touchdown in both of the team’s losses, and Matt Schaub has thrown a pick-six in each of the Texans’ last three games.
With both teams looking shaky at different points in the season, we like San Francisco to be the team to right the ship Sunday night. The 49ers were humiliated in their last home game which was an extremely rare occurrence for this team and the football betting odds are stacked in their favor in Week 5.
Back at home with a confidence-boosting win under their belt and a few extra days to rest and prepare, San Francisco should be able to pick up the win.
PICK: San Francisco -7.0 | Computer Prediction: 20-18 SF (from NFL picks computer)
