New England Patriots vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Betting odds, preview, trends and picks
New England is winning ugly, Cincinnati is getting respect from odds makers and bettors. The computer says Patriots, some bettors say Bengals.

The game was a pick’em bet midweek at most sportsbooks tracked by OddsShark.com. The total was 44.5 over at 5Dimes midweek.
Everyone seemed to be writing off the New England Patriots this offseason as they lost a lot of talent at the wide receiver and tight end position. But as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick always seem to do, the Patriots have found a way to make it work and have put together a 4-0 SU and 2-2 ATS start to the season.
New England’s offense isn’t as dynamic as it once was, but it is doing enough to scrape out wins. They are also 7-1 SU in eight recent games against the Bengals, as well as 11-2 SU in 13 road games of late.
Cincinnati’s 34-30 win at home over the Green Bay Packers seemed to suggest that the Bengals were ready to turn the corner and emerge as a legitimate contender in the AFC. But the Bengals followed up that performance with a dud last week, losing to the Cleveland Browns 17-6 to fall to 2-2 SU and 2-1-1 ATS on the season.
The Bengals have the talent on both sides of the ball to be a contender, but have struggled with consistency so far this season. [ More trends, live odds and full matchup report ]
The Bengals are just 1-7 SU in their last eight games against New England, but many of those came when the team wasn’t as competitive as it is today. Cincinnati is 9-4 SU and 9-3-1 ATS in its last 13 games, and is 5-1 SU and ATS in its last six games at home.
New England passed the eye test last week against what should be a good Atlanta team. While the Bengals are arguably the better team on paper in this matchup, it is hard to go against Tom Brady in a game that essentially appears to be a coin flip.
In what should be a great game that comes down to the wire, look for Brady to once again find a way to win a close one.
PICK: New England | Computer Prediction: 25-18 Patriots (from Odds Shark NFL prediction computer)
