Maui Invitational betting: odds favor Baylor, Syracuse, Gonzaga

College basketball betting heats up with Maui Invitational odds this week. See the lines on Bayor, Syracuse and other top rated NCAA teams.

USA TODAY Sports

The Baylor Bears are off to a 4-0 SU and 2-1 ATS start this season, and will be one of three teams currently ranked in the Top 20 in action Monday night as they take part in the Maui Invitational Tournament.

The tournament’s eight-team field includes fellow ranked teams in the Syracuse Orange and Gonzaga Bulldogs and other contenders such as the California Golden Bears and Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The three-day championship round begins Monday with four games; Minnesota +1.0 vs. Syracuse, Dayton +7.0 vs. Gonzaga, Chaminade +17.5 vs. Baylor, and Arkansas +4.0 vs. California.

The four winners on Monday will be back in action in the tournament semi-finals on Tuesday, and the tournament will wrap up with the Finals on Wednesday. It’s a long way off before bettors have to consider March Madness odds, but these early head-to-head matchups will have an impact in deciding the eventual bracket in March.

The quarterfinals of the NIT Season Tip-Off were played on November 19, paving the way for the tournament’s semi-finals that will be played this Wednesday. The Arizona Wildcats have looked every bit as good as advertised so far this season with a 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS record out of the gate, and they take on the Drexel Dragons.

The Duke Blue Devils fell short in an early-season matchup against Kansas, but are still 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS overall and will be favored against the Alabama Crimson Tide on the college basketball odds menus monitored by OddsShark.com.

The winners of Wednesday’s semi-final matchups will return to action for the championship game at Madison Square Garden on Friday. Baring any upsets, this could be a matchup between two of the nation’s best teams in Arizona and Duke.

The Old Spice Classic kicks off on Thanksgiving Day, highlighted by two Top 25 teams in the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Memphis Tigers. The tournament schedule will be as follows on Thursday: Purdue vs. Oklahoma State, Butler vs. Washington State, Memphis vs. Siena, and LSU vs. Saint Josephs.

If Oklahoma State and Memphis are able to fend off their respective bracket opponents, it could set up a rare early-season rematch between two top teams.

Memphis traveled to Oklahoma State last Tuesday and was handed a 101-80 loss by the Cowboys.

Oklahoma State is averaging 102 points per game, which is the second highest total in the nation.
