Picked by many to win the Western Conference this season, the Los Angeles Clippers will have the chance to make an early season statement this week with two elite teams on the schedule.

Monday night, the Clippers host the Houston Rockets. With free agent acquisition Dwight Howard joining James Harden and a talented group in Houston, the Rockets are also expected to be a championship contender in the West this season.

Later in the week, the Los Angeles Clippers visit the defending champion Miami Heat Thursday night. The Clippers have enjoyed some recent success against the Heat with a 3-2 SU and ATS record in their last five games against Miami, but each of those wins came in Los Angeles; the Clippers are 0-4 SU and ATS in their last four trips to Miami.
The young Philadelphia 76ers are one of the biggest early surprises of the 2013-14 season, getting off to a 3-0 start with upset wins over the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls. Philadelphia will look to continue its success hosting the Golden State Warriors Monday night as a 7-point home underdog, according to 5Dimes.eu.
The 76ers are 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five games against Golden State.
The Denver Nuggets are still looking for their first win of the season and will try to get it Tuesday night hosting one of the NBA's best teams with the San Antonio Spurs coming to town. Denver is 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in its last three games against San Antonio, but just 4-9 SU and 6-7 ATS in its last 13 against the Spurs.
The Indiana Pacers kicked off their season with a 3-0 SU start and host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. It will be Indiana's second game of a back-to-back while Chicago will be well-rested having three days off since playing on Saturday.
Indiana is 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS in its last four games against Chicago.
