Atlanta Falcons vs. San Francisco 49ers betting odds, lines, Monday Night pick
Monday Night betting could be one-sided in Week 16, as the 49ers are favored big over the Atlanta Falcons. The odds have climbed to nearly two TDs, according to Odds Shark.

The San Francisco 49ers have been perfect on Monday Night Football, at least from a betting perspective, going back eight games.
The Niners ride an 8-0 ATS streak into the Week 16 battle against the Atlanta Falcons in a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game. But it probably won’t be much of a rematch as the Falcons have struggled and the 49ers opened as a 12-point favorite at most sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The point spread had climbed to -13.5 at one book as of mid-week.
Shaking off a 1-2 SU and ATS start to the season, San Francisco appears to have rounded into playoff form down the stretch with a 9-2 SU and 8-2-1 ATS record over its last 11 games. The 49ers have averaged 27.7 points per game over that stretch while allowing just 13.1 points per game to opponents.
With one of the league’s best defenses, San Francisco is still one of the NFL’s most dangerous teams.
One year removed from being in the NFC Championship Game, the Atlanta Falcons fell off the face of the earth this season with a 4-10 SU and 5-9 ATS record, rivaling the Houston Texans as the biggest disappointment in the NFL this season.
The Falcons have turned things around slightly over the last four weeks, mustering up a 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS record with wins over Buffalo and Washington. But they are winless on the road in 2013 and this is a tough spot to go looking for a win.
Atlanta is 4-1 SU in its last five games against San Francisco, but four of those games were played in 2010 or earlier, and both of these teams have changed a lot since then. Since Jim Harbaugh took over as head coach of the 49ers in 2011, San Francisco is 21-5-1 SU and 18-8-1 ATS in 27 home games at Candlestick Park.
The total has gone UNDER in five of San Francisco’s last six games at home including each of the last three.
The Falcons rank 22nd in the league in scoring offense and 27th in the league in scoring defense, and are going up against one of the league’s most well-rounded teams on the road on Monday. It will take one of Atlanta’s best games of the season to stay competitive, as San Francisco won’t be taking this game lightly needing a win to secure a playoff spot.
Atlanta backers can take some solace in knowing their team has been a double-digit underdog just three times since 2007 and covered the spread at the sportsbooks each time.
