Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks odds, NBA betting prediction, week preview

Miami has been profitable against Atlanta and the Heat are favored on the NBA odds to keep filling wallets this week.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Over their last four games, the Miami Heat have gone 4-0 SU and 4-0 on the OVER, averaging 112.5 points per game over that stretch.

On Monday night the Heat host the Atlanta Hawks as an 8.5-point favorite.

Miami is 8-0 SU and 7-1 ATS in its last eight games against the Hawks. Atlanta is 4-1 SU over its last five games with all five of those games going OVER the total.

While both of these teams enter this game riding OVER streaks, it is important to note that in the last six meetings between these two teams the UNDER is a perfect 6-0. [ See the latest NBA odds on every game this week ]

The Houston Rockets have had a mediocre month in December, going 5-5 SU and 4-6 ATS after going 13-5 SU and 11-6-2 ATS in October and November. The Rockets host the Dallas Mavericks on Monday and then visit the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, Christmas Day.

Houston has not matched up well against Dallas in recent years with a 2-11 SU and 3-9-1 ATS record over their last 13 meetings (per closing NBA lines from 5Dimes.eu). The Rockets are 2-0 SU and ATS over their last two games against the San Antonio Spurs.

One of the most exciting games on the Christmas Day card is the Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors matchup. The Clippers are 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS over their last eight games including a current 5-0 SU run, but have struggled against Golden State for the last two years with a 3-5 SU and 2-6 ATS record against the Warriors.

Los Angeles takes on Portland the following night in Portland.

The Washington Wizards have been a streaky team all season and are currently enjoying one of their upswings. Going on the road as an underdog against the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics, Washington won all three games outright for a 3-0 SU and ATS record.

The Wizards will try to complete the perfect four-game road trip visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

On Saturday, the Miami Heat head west to take on the Trail Blazers. Portland currently owns the top spot in the West with a 23-5 SU and 18-10 ATS record.
