Ohio State vs Purdue highlight of NCAA basketball betting odds

Big Ten basketball betting is front and center as conference play tips off and Ohio State vs Purdue is up Tuesday. Read the college basketball previews from Odds Shark.

USA TODAY Sports

The Ohio State Buckeyes are 13-0 SU and 6-6 ATS so far this season and will look to stay undefeated Tuesday night when they visit the Purdue Boilermakers.

Purdue is 10-3 SU but just 4-6 ATS in 2013 and projects to open as a significant underdog when the Purdue vs Ohio State odds are posted later Monday.

Ohio State is 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in its last five games against Purdue including a current 2-0 SU and ATS stretch. It will generate plenty of New Year’s Eve wagering buzz on the NCAA college basketball betting menus at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Both of these teams have trended towards the UNDER this season with Ohio State going 9-3 on the UNDER and Purdue going 6-4, but historically this has been an offensive matchup with each of the last five games in this series going OVER the total.

The Villanova Wildcats have emerged as one of college basketball’s best teams this season, crushing opponents to the tune of an 11-0 SU and 8-1 ATS record. The Wildcats also have a road test on Tuesday going up against the Butler Bulldogs, who are 10-2 SU and 7-3 ATS this season.

The Michigan State Spartans have struggled against the Indiana Hoosiers recently with an 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS record in their last three games against their Big Ten foes. Indiana lost a lot of talent this offseason, but is still dangerous with a 10-3 SU and 6-6 ATS record.

The Hoosiers host Michigan State on Saturday. (Watch for trends, matchup stats and use searchable college basketball databases each day to help your handicapping).

Wisconsin has passed the eye test so far this season with a 13-0 SU and 8-4-1 ATS record, and the Badgers will have another chance to make a statement on Sunday hosting the Iowa Hawkeyes. Iowa is 3-2 SU and 5-0 ATS in its last five games against Wisconsin, and is a solid 11-2 SU and 7-4 ATS this year.

While the Arizona Wildcats have been stealing most of the headlines, the Oregon Ducks also appear to be a national threat out of the Pac-12 with a 12-0 SU and 7-2-2 ATS start. The Ducks have the highest scoring offense in basketball averaging 90.3 points per game, leading to a 9-1 mark on the OVER.

On Sunday, Oregon visits Colorado to take on the Buffaloes, who are 11-2 SU and 8-4 ATS this year.
