Trying to fend off a pair of challengers in the AL East division race, the Boston Red Sox will be at Orioles Park at Camden Yards this weekend looking to pay off on the MLB betting lines against the Baltimore Orioles.
Red Sox vs Orioles highlight MLB betting
The AL East is shaping up as baseball’s best division and MLB bettors have their work cut our for them this week. Boston faces Baltimore in a key series that has baseball odds watchers on alert.

That series gets underway on Friday night.
However, it’s the Orioles, who are trying to catch the Red Sox in the division, that have come out on top on the MLB odds in the majority of the matchups between the two teams so far this season, going 5-2 against Boston in seven meetings.
The teams last faced off in the middle of June in Baltimore, with the BoSox dropping three of four games. The OVER/UNDER has gone 1-5-1 for totals bettors in their matchups in 2013.
Dating back to late last year Boston is just 2-8 in its past 10 games against Baltimore.
On the MLB futures at the sportsbooks the Red Sox sit as the second-favorite mid-week at 9/2 odds to win the AL Pennant this season, putting them just behind the 11/4 Detroit Tigers on that list. The Athletics are next at 19/4, with the Rays at 5/1, the Rangers at 13/2, and the Orioles at 8/1. (The Dodgers are climbing fast on the NL odds).
Boston is also at +130 to win the AL East division title, with Tampa Bay at +140, and Baltimore at +500. The New York Yankees then come in at +900, and they’ll face the Rays at home this weekend in a three-game set that also gets going on Friday night.
The Yankees and Rays have split their 10 meetings at five wins apiece so far this year.
Meanwhile, the Basement Bowl takes place in Toronto this weekend as the Blue Jays play host to the Houston Astros; Toronto is in the cellar in the AL East, while the Astros have the worst record in the entire AL. Those teams meet for the first time this season.
Elsewhere around the American League this weekend it’ll be Texas at Cleveland, Kansas City at the White Sox, the Angels at Oakland, and Minnesota at Seattle, with the Tigers at home for an interleague series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Early next week the Red Sox will be back at Fenway Park hosting the Mariners, while Baltimore gets a visit from Houston, and the Yankees take on the Dodgers out in Los Angeles. New York already hosted Los Angeles in a pair of games at Yankee Stadium back in June, splitting those two contests 1-1 for their supporters on the MLB odds.
