NFL Week 2 opening odds, spreads and totals

New England has struggled as a big favorite, but oddsmakers opened the Patriots as 14-point chalk against the visiting Jets. Week 2 opening NFL odds are up, except for the four games involving Week 1 Monday night teams.

The Patriots failed to cover in Buffalo as double-digit chalk, but fans love to back them so oddsmakers have made them even bigger favorites in Week 2.

After rallying to win unimpressively, oddsmakers opened New England as the week’s biggest chalk at 10 points and it was bet up to -14 before breakfast time on Tuesday.

The Falcons and Ravens, both Week 1 losers, opened as touchdown favorites at home to the Rams and Brown, respectively. Baltimore owns dominant trends against Cleveland.

And in the latest installment of the Manning Bowl, Peyton opened as a 4.5-point favorite while visiting Eli in New York.

Four games remained off the board early Tuesday, thanks to the Monday Night Football doubleheader. Oddsmakers will drop opening numbers on those games shortly after injury reports trickle in from those Monday games, where both road teams won and both underdogs covered the MNF spread.
