NFL Week 2 betting trends: Picks for the Ravens, Bears and Seahawks

Baltimore always beats Cleveland and Chicago always beats Minnesota. Do the Week 2 odds support looking at Week 2 betting trends?

Hannah Foslien

Week 1 of the NFL season is in the books and bettors enjoyed some success and some plain old suck.

Week 2 features some one-sided historical angles of which NFL point-spread betting aficionados should be aware. Not that all of these Week 2 trends -- and there are many of them -- will continue, but they are good to know.

Ravens -7/43 vs. Browns (1 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS) | Matchup Report

The defending Super Bowl champs, after having to open their season on the road (which didn’t turn out too well), open their home slate when they host division rival Cleveland. This rivalry has been a bit one sided as of late and trended toward low-scoring games.

The Ravens have beaten the Browns 10 times in a row and covered the spread in seven of those games. However, the Browns have covered the number the last three times they’ve played in B-Town.

Also, seven of the last eight games in this series have stayed UNDER on the totals.

Bears -6.5/42 vs. Vikings (1 p.m. ET Sunday, Fox) | Matchup Report

Chicago, a winner in its debut under its new head coach last week, shoots for a 2-0 start when it hosts division rival Minnesota. The Bears have had the Vikes’ number recently, winning six of the last seven matchups and covering the spread in six of those seven games.

Chicago has also beaten Minnesota 11 of the last 12 times they’ve met at Soldier Field, going 9-2-1 ATS in the process. Finally, the last three games in this series have played UNDER the total.

Seahawks -3/45 vs. 49ers (8:30 p.m. ET Sunday, NBC) | Matchup Report

NFC West heavyweights hook up when Seattle hosts San Francisco under the lights at CenturyLink Field. Since Pete Carroll took over with the Seahawks and Jim Harbaugh with the Niners, San Francisco has won three of the four matchups.

But Seattle covered the spread in both meetings last year. The Seahawks have also won 10 of their last 11 games at home and covered the spread in five of the last six meetings in this series in Seattle.

Other Week 2 NFL Betting Trends (trends on every game)

The last five Rams-Falcons games have all played OVER on the totals.

The totals are 9-1 the last 10 times the Lions have played the Cardinals.

The UNDER is 8-1 in the last nine Saints-Bucs games.

Oakland is 4-15-1 ATS in its last 20 games as a favorite.

The Steelers are 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 visits to Cincinnati.

The Giants are 4-1 ATS in their last five games as home dogs.

The Texans are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against the Titans.
