NFL betting trends: Bears, Seahawks ride streaks in Week 2 action

The Bears almost never lose to Minnesota. The Seahawks almost always cover the spread at home. How do the Week 2 odds play into the Week 2 betting trends?

The Minnesota Vikings hope to avoid falling to 0-2 SU on the season this week, but they may have trouble doing that on the road against the Chicago Bears.

In their last seven games against the Bears overall, the Vikings are 1-6 SU and ATS. The NFL Week 2 NFL betting trends news gets worse for Minnesota when looking at its last 12 games at Soldier Field, where the Bears hold an 11-1 SU and 9-2-1 ATS edge against their NFC North rivals.

Chicago is a 6-point favorite, according to most sportsbooks tracked by OddsShark.com, including 5Dimes.

The Oakland Raiders are a rare betting favorite this week, going off as a 5.5-point favorite at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Raiders have made bettors pay for supporting them as a favorite in recent years, putting together a 4-15-1 ATS record in their last 20 games as a betting favorite.

To make matters worse for the Raiders, the Jags are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against the Raiders. Don’t count on the outright upset though; the Jags are 2-16 SU in their last 18 games as an underdog.

Bet against the Seattle Seahawks at home at your own risk. The Seahawks went a perfect 8-0 SU at home last season, and are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games at home.

The Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday night. San Francisco is 1-5 ATS in its last six trips to Seattle. The Seahawks are a 3-point favorite at home Sunday night.

Those looking for a strong betting-trend backed parlay might consider the Houston Texans and the OVER at home this week against the Tennessee Titans. Houston is 7-2 ATS in its last nine games against Tennessee, and overall the Titans are just 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against AFC South opponents.

Meanwhile, the total has gone OVER in 17 of Houston’s last 21 September games. Houston is a 9.5-point favorite and the total is set at 43.

The New York Giants are a home underdog for just the sixth time since 2006 hosting the Denver Broncos as a 4.5-point home underdog. The Giants are 4-1 ATS in the previous five times they were a home underdog.
