Eagles vs. Cardinals: Betting odds, preview and prediction

Philadelphia and Arizona meet as two of the top teams in the NFC this Sunday.

Evan Habeeb

The Philadelphia Eagles are 12-3 straight up and 10-4-1 against the spread over their last 15 games. Philadelphia will try to keep pace with Dallas in the NFC East race with a win on Sunday on the road against the Arizona Cardinals.

Arizona is a 2.5-point favorite at home, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. This one could easily go either way, but Philadelphia’s strong play on the road and creative offense could put the Eagles over the top as a small underdog.

With the exception of a 26-21 loss on the road to the San Francisco 49ers that looks like a clear anomaly at this point, Philadelphia has been one of the league's most consistent offenses all year. Averaging 30.5 points per game, Chip Kelly's offense has scored 30 or more points in four of Philadelphia's seven games. Philadelphia is 6-2 SU and ATS in its last eight games on the road.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Philadelphia 32.5, Arizona 29.7

Philadelphia visits Arizona at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET.

Arizona's defense helped the Cardinals weather the storm of an injury to Carson Palmer, and the Cardinals currently hold the top spot in the NFC West with a 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS record. Arizona has held its opponents to 20 points or fewer in every game but Denver's 41-20 win over the Cardinals. The Cards enter this game with a 5-1 SU and ATS record in their last six home games against NFC East opponents.

The OVER is 8-3 in Philadelphia’s last 11 road games and 6-2 in Arizona’s last eight home games against NFC East teams. Sunday’s total is set at 48 points at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.

This game has the makings of a great one. Philadelphia has one of the best offenses in the league, Arizona has one of the best defenses and both teams have been playing well all season to get to this point. The Eagles are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games as road underdogs, and with a bye week to prepare coming into this game, could have the slight edge at +2.5.
