Giants vs. Eagles betting odds, preview, prediction

The Giants visit the Eagles in a critical NFC East matchup.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are 9-3 SU and ATS in their last 12 games against the New York Giants. The Eagles will try to hold onto at least a share of first place in the NFC East with a win on Sunday night hosting the Giants.

Philadelphia is a 3-point favorite at home, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. New York’s hot play of late and Philadelphia’s propensity toward close games make the Giants look like a good value pick at +3.

With a 4-1 SU and ATS record, the Eagles have established themselves as one of the league’s top teams. Despite the fact that LeSean McCoy is slumping this season and the defense hasn’t played all that well, the Eagles have found ways to win and have the top scoring offense in the NFL averaging 31.2 points per game. The Eagles will likely need a complete-game effort to top the Giants this Sunday.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Philadelphia 31.5, NY Giants 25.2

Philadelphia hosts New York at 8:30 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field.

After averaging just 14 points per game and going 0-2 SU and ATS through their first two games, it looked like it could be a long season for the Giants. But they’ve since bounced back in a big way, averaging 35 points per game on offense while allowing only 17 points per game on defense in their current 3-0 SU and ATS surge. New York enters Sunday night’s game with a 4-2 SU and ATS record in its last six games as a road underdog.

The total has gone OVER in five of Philadelphia’s last six games as a home favorite and OVER in three of New York’s last four games as a road underdog. Sunday night’s total is set at 50 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

On paper, this looks like a great matchup. Since beating Jacksonville 34-17 in their season opener, the Eagles have had each of their last four games decided by six points or less. This will likely be another close game that could go either way, making New York the value pick getting the points as a 3-point underdog.
