Patriots vs. Colts: Betting odds, preview, and prediction for ‘Sunday Night Football’

Tom Brady and Andrew Luck clash as Indianapolis Colts host the New England Patriots Sunday night.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts are 6-1 SU and ATS in their last seven games as a home favorite. The Colts will try to add an impressive win to their season resume this Sunday night, hosting the New England Patriots.

Indianapolis is a 3-point home favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This game could easily go either way with two great offenses coming off a bye week of preparation, but at home the Colts should gain the upper hand and pick up a win and cover -- despite what the computer thinks.

The Colts bounced back nicely from their surprising 51-34 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, blowing out the New York Giants, 40-24, on the road before heading into their bye week. With that win, Indianapolis improved to 6-1 SU and ATS over its last seven games on the season.

Andrew Luck is the league leader in passing yards with 3,085 and is second in touchdown passes with 26. The Colts are 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games coming off a bye week.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: New England 34.5, Indianapolis 33

New England visits Indianapolis at 8:30 p.m. ET Sunday night at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The New England Patriots are one of the NFL’s hottest teams, putting together a 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS record over their last five games. The Patriots have been demolishing opponents over that stretch with an average margin of victory of 18.6 points per game. Four of those five games came at home though; this week’s game should serve as an interesting road test for the Patriots. New England is 19-9-2 ATS in its last 30 games against the Colts.

The OVER is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams and 6-0 in New England's last six games. Sunday night's total is set at 57.5, per NFLOdds.ca. With the way these two offense are clicking right now, there should be plenty of offensive fireworks Sunday night. Both teams will be comfortable playing in a shootout, and with the home crowd behind them, look for the Indianapolis Colts to come up with a couple more big plays on defense to win as a 3-point favorite.
