Eagles vs Cowboys: Betting odds, trends and pick for Thanksgiving Day showdown

First place in the NFC East is on the line when the Dallas Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles this Thursday.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are 9-3 SU over their last 12 road games against NFC East opponents and 7-3 ATS over their last 10 divisional road games. The Eagles can take over first place in the NFC East with a road win this Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Philadelphia is a 3-point road underdog, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. In what should be an excellent game between two of the NFC’s top teams, look for Dallas to pick up another Thanksgiving Day win at home -- at least SU -- to take control of the NFC East’s top spot.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Philadelphia 31.3, Dallas 32.6

One week after being on the wrong end of a blowout in a 53-20 loss on the road against Green Bay, the Eagles were back on the right side of the blowout in their 43-24 win over Tennessee.

The offense has flourished under quarterback Mark Sanchez, scoring 34.8 points per game as the team remains one of the NFL's most consistent with an 8-3 SU and ATS record on the year. Philadelphia is just 1-3 SU and ATS in its last four games against Dallas.

Dallas hosts Philadelphia at AT&T Stadium this Thanksgiving Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Tony Romo reminded football fans and bettors how valuable he can be to the Cowboys last Sunday night with a four-touchdown, zero-interception performance en route to a 31-28 come from behind victory over the New York Giants.

Romo has been a Turkey Day specialist in Dallas with a 6-1 SU record in seven starts and 18 touchdown passes to only six interceptions. Dallas is 8-2 SU and 6-4 ATS over its last 10 games and 4-1 ATS in its last five games against NFC East rivals.

The UNDER is 5-2 in the last seven games in this head-to-head series. Thursday’s total is set at 54.5 points on the Week 13 NFL betting lines.

This game features two of the top six offenses in total yards and two of the top four running backs in total rushing yards. It should be a great game, but Romo’s Thanksgiving Day track record and home-field advantage should put the Cowboys over the top as 3-point favorites.
