Broncos vs. Chiefs: Betting odds, spread, pick, trends, and ‘Sunday Night Football’ preview

Denver heads to Kansas City in a fight for first place in the AFC West.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos are 10-0 SU and 9-1 ATS in their last 10 road games against AFC West opponents and they hope to continue their divisional road dominance this Sunday when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs.

Denver is a 1.5-point road favorite, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. With extra time to rest and prepare this week and a few big wins at home already under their belt this season, look for Kansas City to pull off the home upset in this division rivalry game.

With a 4-0 SU and ATS record in their previous four games leading up to New England and a blowout win over Oakland after it, fans and bettors were willing to give the Denver Broncos a pass for their bad game against the Patriots.

But after losing 22-7 on the road against St. Louis and narrowly escaping with a 39-36 win at home over Miami last week, the 8-3 SU and 5-6 ATS Broncos suddenly look vulnerable. Denver is 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS in its last five games against the Chiefs.

Kansas City was a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS in its last five games heading into its Thursday night game against the winless Oakland Raiders last week. But instead of wiping the floor with the Raiders, the Chiefs slipped up in the rain and missed out on a golden opportunity to pick up their eighth win of the season in a shocking 24-20 loss.

Coming off a big win over Seattle and looking ahead to this week against Denver, the Chiefs may have simply been caught overlooking their weak division rival.

Sunday night’s total is set at 49.5 points on the Week 13 NFL betting lines. The UNDER is 6-1-1 over the last eight times these two rivals have played.

Both Denver and Kansas City need this win, and both teams are good enough to get it. The Chiefs have already beaten New England and Seattle at home this year and could add another big win to the resume with a strong performance as a 1.5-point underdog this week.

The game goes at Arrowhead Stadium this Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. ET. Of note, 11 of the 12 NBC Sunday Night Football games have played OVER the total this year. Those with a future bet on the Super Bowl will also be watching here as the winner inches closer to a first-round playoff bye.
