Colts vs. Giants: Betting odds, preview, prediction for ‘Monday Night Football’

Andrew Luck brings the league’s best passing attack to New York Monday night when the Colts take on the Giants.

Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 appearances on Monday Night Football. Indianapolis will be looking for another win and cover when it visits the New York Giants this Monday night.

New York is a 3-point home underdog at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Giants should be prepared for this game coming off a bye week, but the Colts’ passing attack is strong enough to give Indianapolis the edge as a small road favorite in this one.

Indianapolis entered last week’s road game against Pittsburgh on a 5-0 SU and ATS hot streak, only to see that streak come to an ugly end in a 51-34 loss to the Steelers. The Colts offense, which leads the league in points per game with 31.3, did its part, but the defense had an uncharacteristically awful day as Ben Roethlisberger passed for over 500 yards and six touchdowns. The Colts will need a much better performance on defense this week against the Giants.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Indianapolis 29.5, NY Giants 23.1

The Colts visit the Giants at MetLife Stadium Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The New York Giants had seemingly turned a corner with a 3-0 SU and ATS stretch of wins over Houston, Washington and Atlanta, but the team followed that streak up with back-to-back road losses against Philadelphia and Dallas. New York ranks in the bottom third of the league in both rushing and passing defense, allowing 27 points to Philadelphia and 31 points to Dallas. The Giants are 7-0 SU in their last seven games coming out of a bye week, but just 2-10 SU in their last 12 games as a home underdog.

The total has gone OVER in nine of Indianapolis’s last 10 road games. Monday night’s total is set at 50 points at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

New York ranks 25th in the NFL in passing defense, which doesn’t bode well going up against Andrew Luck and the league’s best passing attack. All three of the Giants’ wins have come against teams with losing records. Excusing Indianapolis’s last game as an off-day; the Colts should win this one as a 3-point favorite.
