Cowboys vs. Eagles: Betting odds, spread, preview and ‘Sunday Night Football’ prediction

Dallas and Philadelphia battle for first place in the NFC East this Sunday night.

Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys are a perfect 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in six road games so far this season. The Cowboys will be looking for another road win this Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dallas is a 3-point road underdog on Sunday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Home-field advantage and strong play on offense could push the Eagles to a win, but in what figures to be a very close game between two evenly matched teams, it may be worth taking the points on the Cowboys at +3.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Dallas 28.8, Philadelphia 31.1

After suffering a surprising 33-10 loss at home to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving Day, the Dallas Cowboys bounced back nicely last week with a 41-28 win over the Chicago Bears. It was the third time in their last four games that the Cowboys had won and scored 31 points or more on offense, with the lone exception being the loss to Philadelphia. The road team is 6-1 SU in the last seven matchups between Dallas and Philadelphia.

Philadelphia hosts Dallas at Lincoln Financial Field at 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.

The Eagles' offense hit a road block last week against the suddenly surging Seattle Seahawks, scoring only 14 points in a 24-14 home loss to Seattle. In the five games before that loss, the Eagles were 4-1 SU and ATS and averaging 34.4 points per game on offense. Mark Sanchez has kept the offense playing well, and he will need to have another big game this week as Philadelphia tries to avoid a second straight home loss. The Eagles are 10-2 SU in their last 12 games at home.

The OVER is 5-0 in Dallas' last five road games and 5-2 in Philadelphia's last seven home games, according to the OddsShark NFL Database. Sunday night's total is set at 55 points.

With matching 9-4 SU records, this game is for the top spot in the NFC East. And in the crowded NFC playoff picture, the team that loses this game could be in danger of missing the playoffs. The stage is set for a hard fought game that could easily go either way; the points bring value to Dallas at +3.
