49ers vs. Seahawks: Betting odds, spread, preview, and prediction

The Seattle Seahawks look to stay hot when they host the San Francisco 49ers Sunday.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games against the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks are a big favorite against their hated rival this Sunday, hosting the 49ers in Seattle.

Seattle is a 10-point favorite at home at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. With the defense playing great in recent weeks and a history of dominance against Colin Kaepernick, Seattle looks poised to pick up a blowout win against the 49ers -- even if the computer thinks San Francisco can squeeze out a cover.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: San Francisco 18, Seattle 26.8

With the playoffs quickly approaching, the Seattle Seahawks have been looking more and more like the shutdown defensive team that dominated the league en route to a Super Bowl victory last season.Seattle has outscored its opponents 62-20 over the last three weeks, picking up back-to-back 19-3 wins over Arizona and San Francisco and then holding Philadelphia’s potent offense to just 14 points in a 24-14 road win over the Eagles. The Seahawks return home where they are 13-2 ATS in their last 15 divisional games and 13-2 ATS in their last 15 December games.

San Francisco visits the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday.

The wheels have seemingly fallen off for the San Francisco 49ers. After the 49ers appeared to have turned things around with a 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS record in their previous three games, San Francisco lost 19-3 at home to the Seahawks and then inexplicably lost 24-13 as an 8.5-point road favorite to the lowly Oakland Raiders. With the offense averaging only 14.3 points per game over the team’s last six games, there is too much pressure on the defense every week. The 49ers are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 trips to Seattle.

The UNDER is 6-1 over the last seven games between these two NFC West rivals. Sunday’s total is set at 38 points on the Week 15 NFL betting lines.

Colin Kaepernick is 1-3 SU in four regular season games against Seattle with two touchdown passes and seven interceptions in those games. With Seattle’s defense playing extremely well and having Kaepernick’s number, Seattle should cruise to a double-digit win as a 10-point favorite at home Sunday. The Seahawks are 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 games as a double-digit home chalk.
