Lions vs. Packers: Betting odds, spread, preview and prediction

Green Bay and Detroit play for the NFC North title and the bye week that comes with it.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are 10-1-1 SU and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home games against NFC North opponents. The Packers can win the division with a win this weekend at home against the Detroit Lions. Detroit visits Green Bay at Lambeau Field at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday afternoon.

Green Bay is a 7.5-point home favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. With a sterling home record and a history of divisional dominance, look for the Packers to win and cover this Sunday at home -- even if the computer thinks it will be tight.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Detroit 25.9, Green Bay 33

After suffering a surprising road loss to Buffalo the week before, the Packers bounced back with an impressive 20-3 win on the road against Tampa Bay. With the win and cover, Green Bay improved to 10-2 SU and 8-4 ATS over its last 12 games. The Packers take their game to another level at home where they are 7-0 SU and 5-1-1 ATS this season. Green Bay is 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven games against Detroit.

The Lions squeaked by the Chicago Bears last Sunday to increase their current win streak to four straight games. Detroit is an impressive 11-4 SU on the season but is just 4-7 ATS over its last 11 games. Ranking second behind only Seattle in both total defense and scoring defense, the Lions have been excellent on that side of the ball all year. But with only 20.1 points per game, Detroit ranks 23rd in scoring offense. The Lions are 3-6 SU and 2-7 ATS over their last nine games on the road, according to the OddsShark NFL Database.

The UNDER is 8-3 over the last 11 meetings between Detroit and Green Bay and 7-0 in Detroit's last seven road games overall. Sunday's total is set at 47.5 points.

At home, the Packers are averaging an incredible 41.1 points per game on offense. They may not score quite that many against Detroit's elite defense, but they should be able to score enough to put away a Detroit team that has struggled on offense. Take Green Bay at minus-7.5 to win and cover to earn the NFC North title and a first-round bye.
