UFC 170 betting includes Ronda Rousey armbar odds

Ronda Rousey is a huge favorite in UFC 170 betting and fans can even bet on whether she will defeat Sara McMann by armbar.

Ronda Rousey is a perfect 8-0 in her MMA career so far with eight submission wins via armbar.

When you have domination at that level, it’s just a matter of time before someone offers tempting odds that the womens UFC champion will win by armbar again.

“In a sport like MMA where a lucky punch can end it quickly or a tentative fighter can easily produce a decision, making a fighter a -160 bet to win by a particular method is great UFC betting value,” said Jack Randall of OddsShark.com.

The ‘no’ position - that Rousey will not win by submission - is a +120 payout.

This Saturday, UFC 170 betting action kicks off at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Rousey faces off against Sara McMann, a fellow Olympic medalist who is also undefeated in MMA bouts with a 7-0 career record.

Rousey was a huge -485 moneyline favorite Friday morning, with over-under odds favoring the fight to last longer than 1.5 rounds.

While Sara McMann doesn’t have the notoriety that Rousey’s last opponent Miesha Tate did, she may actually be better equipped to upset the UFC women’s bantamweight champion. McMann may not be a polished enough striker to catch Rousey off guard, but her strength and excellent wrestling skills could make her a tricky challenge for Rousey.

McMann would pay +300 on an upset.

Daniel Cormier is a heavy favorite of -1100 over Patrick Cummins (+650), who is filling in on short notice in this bout for the injured Rashad Evans. Cummins has a good wrestling background, but considering Cormier’s excellent takedown defense and offensive versatility, this matchup looks pretty lopsided on paper.

The welterweight fight between Rory MacDonald (-300 to win) and Demian Maia (+230) is arguably the most interesting on the card. Both fighters are coming off a loss and will be hungry for a bounce-back win.

MacDonald may have the upper hand in skill, but he’ll need to be more aggressive than he has shown in recent fights to take the initiative away from Maia. MacDonald is the superior striker, so Maia will likely try to get him to the mat as often as possible.

Other fights on the card include Mike Pyle (-200) vs. T.J. Waldburger (+160), Stephen Thompson (-140) vs. Robert Whittaker (+110), and Alexis Davis (-160) vs. Jessica Eye (+130).
