Louisville, Saint Louis favored in Midwest Region betting odds

Louisville is favored big over Manhattan and Saint Louis is a slight favorite against NC State in Midwest Region betting action Thursday.

North Carolina State has been a money-making machine over the last few months with an 11-2 ATS record over their last 13 games.

The 12-seed Wolfpack will try to add another win and cover Thursday night in Orlando as a 3-point underdog going up against the 5-seed Saint Louis Billikens.

In the later game, 4-seed Louisville is a 16.5-point favorite over 13-seed Manhattan. (See history of 4 vs 13 seed matchups)

N.C. State made the most of its at-large bid into Tuesday’s First Four game against Xavier, crushing the Musketeers by a score of 74-59. The Wolfpack are now 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS over their last six games including four outright upsets as the betting underdog.

T.J. Warren is one of the nation’s top stars averaging 25 points per game.

Saint Louis fizzled badly down the stretch, finishing the season on a 1-4 SU and ATS skid including three losses as a favorite of 6.5 or more. But with a 25-2 SU record before the slump, Saint Louis had already locked up an at-large bid, even if they don’t get a lot of respect from oddsmakers such as Bovada.

The Billikens went just 10-19 ATS this season with a 1-8 ATS record over their last nine games. They also lost in this same role as a No. 5 seed last year.

The Amway Center in Orlando hosts the evening betting matchup of North Carolina State vs. Saint Louis at 7:20pm ET before Louisville vs. Manhattan takes place at 9:50pm.

After finishing the season on a 5-0 SU and ATS tear to win the American Athletic Conference and end the year with a 29-5 SU and 19-13 ATS record, many believed Louisville deserved a 1-seed.

The tournament committee saw things differently and made the defending champs a 4-seed. Louisville ranks in the top 12 nationally in both scoring offense (82.1 PPG) and defense (61 PPG against).

The Manhattan Jaspers ended the season on an 11-1 SU and 8-4 ATS run, locking up the Metro Atlantic title in the process. Manhattan has shown plenty of fight with a 15-2 ATS record in its last 17 games as an underdog.
