East Region picks, UNC vs Providence odds, Iowa State vs NC Central betting
UNC boasts more tourney experience than Providence and they are favored. Iowa State is favored by two TDs to beat another smaller North Carolina school.


The North Carolina Tar Heels are 4-1 ATS in their last five opening NCAA Tournament games.
The 6-seed Tar Heels will look to add another win and cover on Friday when they face 11-seed Providence as a 4-point favorite, according to sportsbooks monitored by SBNation’s lines partner OddsShark.com.
No. 3-seed Iowa State is an 8-point favorite against 14-seed North Carolina Central later in the evening.
UNC strung together a 9-0 SU and ATS run before going 3-2 SU and 0-5 ATS to end the season. The Tar Heels picked up an at-large tournament bid with a 23-9 SU and 16-16 ATS record.

Marcus Paige (17.4 PPG) and James Michael McAdoo (14.2 PPG) led the North Carolina offense to 76.3 PPG.
The AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas hosts Friday’s two East bracket evening betting matchups in Providence vs. North Carolina at 7:20pm ET and North Carolina Central vs. Iowa State at 9:50pm.
The Providence Friars finished their season on a 7-2 SU and ATS run, capped off by a 3-0 SU and ATS run through the Big East Tournament to win the conference title. The Friars are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as an underdog including four outright upsets in their last five. The total has gone OVER in nine of Providence’s last 10 games.
After going just 3-12 ATS over its previous 15 games, Iowa State went a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS to end the season on a high note and win the Big 12 Tournament. The Cyclones were one of the nation’s best offenses averaging 82.9 PPG.
Iowa State is 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in its last seven first-round games.
The North Carolina Central Eagles enter the tournament riding a 20-game winning streak that includes a 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS run to win the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament. Senior guard Jeremy Ingram leads the team on offense with 20.6 PPG.
N.C. Central will be making its NCAA Tournament debut in Friday’s game.
