Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich betting odds, preview, prediction

Champions League betting sees Real Madrid as a slight favorites over Bayern Munich Wednesday.

Will he play or won’t he? Cristiano Ronaldo is nicked up and missed the Copa del Rey final and his status is up in the air for this Champions League match.

Still, Real Madrid won the final against Barcelona and they come into this match with a lot of confidence. However, they may need more than confidence to beat a Bayern squad that looks, almost, unbeatable.

There have been reports surfacing the Ronaldo will play and it would be pretty shocking if he did not. His status has not impacted World Cup odds where Portugal remained between 25-1 to 30-1 at most sportsbooks.

Bayern already has the Bundesliga title in the bag and they are stacked to say the least. However, they are on the road in this match, recently had their long winning streak snapped, and they are betting underdogs.

Sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com had Real Madrid as the slight Champions League betting favorite posted at +140 with Bayern at +200 and a draw line of +260.

Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzima lead a potent Real attack that seems to come to life more on their home pitch. The German giants’ defense has a tall task to say the least.

Manager Pep Guardiola has taken over for Bayern this season while he was with Barcelona he only lost twice to Real with nine wins and four draws.

Champions League Match Report

These two squads have met 10 times in Madrid in their storied histories with Bayern leaving with a win only two times.

The Real defense will have to deal with three Bayern Players that have scored at least 10 goals in Thomas Müller, Mario Mandzukic, and Arjen Robben. On top of that a great midfield that may be the best in the world.

Still, the Bayern defense, while formidable, has really not been in top form giving up five goals in their last four matches.

Bayern G Manuel Neuer may be fit for this match and the Bayern #1 GK has been more than solid in the net this season. He and the Bayern defense will be tested in this match, as Real will attack from the get go to get those precious three points at home.

Real Madrid has four clean sheets in their last six matches. They did give up two goals to Borussia Dortmund on the road and one to Barcelona in the recent Copa del Rey final.

While their defense will obviously be key, it may be more important that their midfield step up its play in the Bayern encounter.
