Liverpool vs. Manchester City betting odds, Match Preview, prediction

Liverpool will be small favorites in a crucial EPL betting matchup with Manchester City Sunday. See the latest odds and trends.

Alex Livesey

Liverpool is in top form and with Manchester City playing to a draw a couple of weeks back the Reds have the inside track on the league title.

The Reds are in the lead in the EPL with a two-point lead over Chelsea and a four-point lead over City, who has played one less match than Liverpool.

Liverpool is the Premier League betting favorite in this huge match at +138 with Man City at +180 and a draw line of +253 as of Tuesday at Sports Interaction.

There should be no lack of offense in this match, as Liverpool and City have scored the most goals in the EPL this season.

Earlier this season at Etihad Stadium Manchester City beat Liverpool 2-1.

The Reds are riding a nine-match winning streak and they have scored 14 goals in their last four matches. [ See this weekend’s EPL betting lines as well ]

Liverpool’s dynamic offense will be facing a City defense that has given up one goal in each of their last two matches and had five clean sheets in their previous five matches.

The City defense has a tall task facing Luis Suárez and Daniel Sturridge, who have combined for 49 goals this league season and are the top two scorers in the EPL.

Liverpool is coming off a 2-1 road win against West Ham where they got both of their goals off penalties from Steven Gerrard.

While Liverpool has scored the most goals in the league their defense has given up 11 more goals than Man City this season.

Last season at home Liverpool played to a 2-2 draw against City.

City’s Yaya Touré ranks third in the EPL in goals this season and he has five goals in his last four matches including a hat trick facing Fulham on March 22.

Man City's second leading scorer Sergio Aguero is still out with an injury and will likely miss this match. Even with Aguero out the City offense has not missed a beat and Álvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko have combined for 20 goals.

In the loss to City on the road in late December the Reds kept the time of possession battle close, but allowed eight more shots in the match.

City is the Premier League betting underdog in this match, but still have the best betting odds to win the league at +138 and Liverpool at +188.
