Oklahoma City vs. Los Angeles Clippers betting odds, Game 5 betting preview, pick

The trends point to the Clippers failing to cover here against the Oklahoma City Thunder. See the latest odds and matchup trends courtesy of Odds Shark.

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE

The Oklahoma City Thunder are just 4-6 SU and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 postseason games at home heading into a critical Game 5 in the NBA playoffs.

However, with their current series against the Los Angeles Clippers all tied up at two games apiece the Thunder will try to take advantage of their home court in Game 5 as a 5.5-point favorite on NBA betting lines Tuesday night.

Despite opening up a 22-point lead in the first quarter of Game 4 and entering the fourth quarter with a 12-point lead, the Oklahoma City Thunder could not hold on for the win in Los Angeles.

A win would have given Oklahoma City a 3-1 stranglehold on the series, but instead they return home in Game 5 with the series tied up at 2-2. Kevin Durant had 40 points in Game 4 and played a big part in earning Oklahoma City the big lead, but the Thunder let it slip away.

Los Angeles didn't cover the spread as a 5-point favorite in Game 4, but the outright win was impressive enough considering the huge hole the Clippers were in. Chris Paul and Darren Collison played key roles in the comeback to send Los Angeles into Game 5.

The Clippers are 2-8 SU and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 postseason road games, so winning Sunday night’s game at home was critical.

These two teams have been extremely competitive against one another over the last few years. In the last 16 games between Oklahoma City and Los Angeles, the Thunder hold a slight 9-7 SU and ATS advantage; though the two teams have split the last eight games 4-4 SU.

One trend that has been consistent in this head-to-head series is offense, with 11 of the last 16 games going OVER the posted total.

Recent history between these two teams including the 1-1 SU splits in both Oklahoma City and Los Angeles illustrate just how close these teams are.

Motivation won’t be an issue as neither team wants to go into Game 6 down 3-2 in the series, setting the stage for what should be an excellent game in Oklahoma on Tuesday night.
