If you’re heading to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas later this month make sure you pack your laptop or your tablet.
WSOP online, poker players enjoy first Nevada betting experience
Online poker has been taboo in many jurisdictions, but its fully legal in Nevada and other states, making this year’s World Series of Poker a wilder betting experience.

The WSOP is fully embracing online poker this year with WSOP.com making the leap to the big time.
Online poker was legalized in Nevada last April, but this will be the first time WSOP.com, which went live in September, will be offering online poker during the WSOP. One of the interesting features that comes along with it will be the ability for online players to make a deposit into their online account at the live cash cage.
Not only will they be able to put money into their account live, they’ll also be able to cash out at the live cage not long after the WSOP is underway and deposits begin to be accepted.
Satellite tourneys have also been big in online poker and WSOP.com will be no exception. There will be a number of WSOP Main Event satellite tourneys at WSOP.com at various buy-ins levels for rich and more frugal players. WSOP.com officials expect about 100 main event seats to be up for grabs, with a guaranteed 25 seats available in the Main Event Scramble on July 5.
With WSOP.com online during the World Series of Poker there’s got to be places to setup your laptop or tablet and play a few hands with your new Las Vegas friends right? Don’t worry there will be. The new Grind Room will be outfitted with computers, its own WiFi, power banks and a few other amenities to enhance the online poker experience.
The folks at WSOP.com will also be scheduling tourneys and event alongside the WSOP schedule. For example there could be turbo tournaments online during scheduled dinner breaks and a high roller series for the big money players looking for more action during the WSOP early days.
If the future of the WSOP is both in the poker room and online, this could just be the beginning of the online integration with an online WSOP bracelet event possibly close at hand?
