This is the dreaded Group of Death with a stacked German squad having the best odds to win it.
World Cup 2014 Group G Betting Preview, Odds, Predictions
Group G will send two solid teams to early exits. Portugal and Germany lead the Group of Death betting odds, with Ghana and USA trailing.

This is the second World Cup in a row where Portugal was drawn into the Group of Death and Cristiano Ronaldo led the squad to the knockout phase in 2010.
USA had to be less than thrilled not only to be drawn into this group, but to also face a Ghana side that has ousted them from the last two World Cups.
GERMANY
Odds to win Group G: -200
Odds to finish bottom of group: +3300
Odds to win World Cup: +550
Germany has the third best overall odds to win the World Cup after Brazil and Argentina and they are a side that features a ton of world-class talent and a great midfield.
Lukas Podolski, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Muller and Mario Götze are all fantastic players and Mesut Ozil is one of the premier playmakers in the world.
While there are no real weaknesses in the German squad, they do not feature a star striker, but come up with many scoring chances from their loaded midfield.
The Germans were undefeated in the qualifying process with nine wins and one draw, but they did lose to the USA in a friendly last year.
PORTUGAL
Odds to win group: +275
Odds to finish bottom of group: +650
Odds to win World Cup: +2800
It is no secret that the key to stopping Portugal is trying to contain FW Cristiano Ronaldo, who may be the best striker in the world and has the second best odds to win the top goal scorer.
The MF duo of Joao Moutinho and Nani has to make plays this summer feeding their star striker, which will be blanketed by opposing defenses. Speaking of defense that is the main issue for the squad that has their toughest group match in their opening facing Germany.
USA
Odds to win group: +1100
Odds to finish bottom of group: +110
Odds to win World Cup: +22500
The Americans have a good squad for this summer, but they have looked less than stellar in their tune up friendlies leading up to Brazil. Their two key players are both in the Premier League in FW Jozy Altidore and GK Tim Howard.
The midfield is a good one and the Americans are solid at creating scoring chances on the counter-attack. They have a chance to exact some revenge against Ghana in their opening group match and they did beat Germany in a friendly last year.
GHANA
Odds to win group: +1200
Odds to finish bottom of group: +120
Odds to win World Cup: +25000
Kevin-Prince Boateng, Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien lead the Ghana squad that is a very physical one and has a good midfield. They have the worst odds to win the Group of Death and in their first two friendly tune up matches this year they have not looked good losing to Montenegro and beating a weak squad from Namibia.
