2015 Stanley Cup odds see Los Angeles Kings climbing ladder

Chicago tops the 2015 Stanley Cup odds futures list, ahead of the team that beat and won it all in 2014 - the LA Kings. Where is your team rated?

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Coming off a victory in the Stanley Cup final last week, the Los Angeles Kings are already moving up the NHL futures list for 2015 at the sportsbooks.

Opening in fourth spot at 10/1 on the odds to win the 2015 Stanley Cup despite their victory over the New York Rangers in this spring’s championship series, the Kings have since moved up to third place at 9/1 on that list.

That, however, still has Los Angeles trailing both the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins on the futures to win the 2015 Stanley Cup at some sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com with the Blackhawks the 7/1 favorites and the Bruins next at 8/1 odds.

Chicago was a victim of Los Angeles’ playoff run this spring, falling to Los Angeles in the Western Conference final, while Boston didn’t make it past their second-round series against the rival Montreal Canadiens.

The Pittsburgh Penguins opened third at 9/1 on the 2015 Stanley Cup odds, but after a week of action at the sportsbooks they’re now fourth at 10/1 behind the Blackhawks, Bruins, and Kings.

Pittsburgh got past Columbus in their opening-round series this spring but then got upset in seven games by the Rangers in the second round of the postseason - a Rangers team that is back at 16/1 on the Stanley Cup odds for 2015.

Sitting between Pittsburgh and New York on the NHL futures for next season are the St. Louis Blues at 12/1, and both the Anaheim Ducks and the San Jose Sharks at 14/1. Two other Western Conference teams then follow after that tier with the Colorado Avalanche at 18/1 and the Minnesota Wild at 20/1.

The final Western Conference playoff club from this past season, the Dallas Stars, are back at 33/1. (Live updates to NHL futures odds viewable in the new Odds Shark hockey pages)

As for the rest of the top Eastern Conference teams, the Canadiens are sitting at 20/1 on next year’s Stanley Cup betting lines, with the Detroit Red Wings at 22/1, the Tampa Bay Lightning at 25/1, and the Philadelphia Flyers at 28/1.

The Blue Jackets were a Wild Card team in their Eastern playoff appearance this spring; they’re at 40/1 on next year’s NHL futures board.

And of the teams that missed the playoffs this past season, the top 2015 Stanley Cup odds belong to the Vancouver Canucks at 25/1, with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals both at 33/1, and the New Jersey Devils at 40/1.

Looking for the biggest possible payout for next spring’s NHL hockey odds? The sportsbooks have the Buffalo Sabres set as big 100/1 longshots.
