Netherlands vs. Chile odds, Brazil vs. Cameroon betting highlights Monday World Cup

Brazil is the biggest favorite while Holland and Chile battle to avoid Brazil in the Round of 16 as World Cup betting action resumes Monday with four games.

Top spot in Group B will be settled on Monday when Chile and the Netherlands meet in World Cup group stage action.

Betting action also sees the biggest underdog of the tournament so far as winless Cameroon is a 25-1 shot against host Brazil later in the day.

Netherlands, who reached the final of the 2010 World Cup, are slight moneyline favorites in the match with odds of 29/20.

Undefeated thus far at Brazil 2014, the Oranje have emerged as a favorite in both group and futures wagering after lagging in the middle of the pack in the weeks leading up to the World Cup.

Netherlands were a disappointing 25/1 to win their first World Cup and 9/2 to win Group B, but since their decisive 5-1 victory over Spain in their opening match Netherlands’ World Cup futures odds have vaulted to 9/1, trailing only Brazil, Germany, Argentina and France.

Chile have also earned respect with their strong group stage play. They entered the tournament not favored to advance with distant odds of 40/1 to win the tournament.

However, after recording impressive wins over Australia and Spain, the defending World Cup champs, Chile now sits poised to capture first place in Group B with a win over the Dutch.

There is extra incentive for both squads to come out on top in Monday’s match; avoiding a potential round of 16 showdown against tournament favorites Brazil.

The tournament hosts are also in action on Monday, taking on Cameroon. La Seleccion are favored by 2.5 goals and are heavy 2/15 moneyline favorites against the Indomitable Lions, who have been eliminated from the tournament but would certainly like to spoil Brazil’s party.

While Brazil is a heavy favorite to advance, they could still be eliminated from the tournament with a loss to Cameroon, combined with a draw between Mexico and Croatia in Monday’s other Group A match.

Cameroon was a 25-1 underdog at some books monitored by WorldCupOdds.net.

Croatia, who lost to Brazil 3-1 in the World Cup’s opening match and sit third in the group with three points, are 33/20 moneyline favorites against Mexico, who are currently tied with Brazil at four points. Moneyline odds on a draw in the match sit at 23/10.

Monday’s other game features a pair of squads already eliminated from contention. Spain are 1.5-goal favorites against Australia, and sit at 2/5 on the moneyline. While the game is a mismatch on paper, the Socceroos cannot be underestimated.

Although winless so far at Brazil 2014, Australia have played well, and will seek to exploit a porous Spanish defense that has given up a shocking seven goals in two group stage matches.
