The American League are the slimmest of favorites in this year’s MLB All-Star Game.

The Junior Circuit are -106 on the moneyline for Tuesday’s game at Target Field in Minneapolis, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The National League, winners of three of the last four Midsummer Classics, sit at -104, although several operators have the teams at even odds.
The TOTAL on this year’s game is pegged at 8.0 with the UNDER favored at -130 and the OVER at +110. Only once in the last eight years has the total runs in an All-Star Game reached eight, an 8-0 win by the NL in 2012.
The last time the total runs ran into double-digits was 2005, a 7-5 AL win in Detroit. In all, UNDER have beaten the baseball all star game odds eight straight times when betting the MLB All Star Game.
Despite being slight underdogs, the NL holds the edge in a number of 2014 All-Star Game props bets. The National League, the visiting club on Tuesday night, are -135 favorites to score two runs first and -110 to win the race to three runs. The AL are +105 and +120, respectively.
The last time neither team scored two runs in an All-Star Game was in 1968 at Houston’s Astrodome; a 1-0 NL win. It is a +2500 longshot that neither team scores a pair at this year’s game.
Giancarlo Stanton leads the way in betting to win this year’s Home Run Derby. The Miami Marlins outfielder, who is currently tied for fifth among MLB home run hitters with 21, sits at 3/1. Oakland A’s outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, winner of last year’s Home Run Derby, trails with odds of 9/2.
Los Angeles Dodgers sophomore Yasiel Puig follows closely at 5/1. The young Cuban has just 12 dingers so far on the season, and only two since Memorial Day weekend.
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista, the top vote-getter this year in All-Star Game balloting, is an 11/2 bet to win his first Home Run Derby. Bautista, who hit 54 home runs in 2010, will be participating in his third Derby.
Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki rounds out the list of favorites with odds of 8/1, and is followed by A’s 3B Josh Donaldson and Rockies 1B Justin Morneau, both at 10/1.
Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier enters his first Home Run Derby with odds of 12/1, while Baltimore’s Adam Jones and Brian Dozier, who will represent the hometown Minnesota Twins, round out the pack as 14/1 longshots.
