The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 14-0 SU and 9-5 ATS in their last 14 regular season games with Everett Golson under center. Golson will likely improve to 15-0 as a 28.5-point favorite at Lucas Oil Stadium against the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday night.
Purdue vs. Notre Dame betting guide and pick
Notre Dame is favored big over Purdue, and Golson should move to 15-0 as a starter this week (Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET, NBC).

This is a game that Notre Dame should completely dominate, and with a bye week coming up next week, there is no fear of a look-ahead trap. Take the Fighting Irish -28.5 over the hapless Boilermakers.
Golson is getting plenty of hype on the heels of a 2-0 SU and ATS start in which he has passed for five touchdowns with no interceptions and rushed for three more. But Golson’s play isn’t the only takeaway from Notre Dame’s hot start. The defense has been excellent, totally shutting down Michigan in last Saturday’s 31-0 win. Notre Dame has some tough games ahead on the schedule, but all systems are a go early.
Purdue picked up a win and cover in its season opener against Western Michigan, but followed that up with a 38-17 home loss to Central Michigan last week as a 3-point home favorite. The Boilermakers are just 2-13 SU and 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall. In its last 19 games as the betting underdog, Purdue is 1-18 SU and 6-12-1 ATS. Purdue is 0-6 SU and 1-4-1 ATS in its last six games away from home.
There isn’t much to like about Purdue in this matchup. The Boilermakers have shown no signs of life on the road or as an underdog in recent years, and they are facing a team this week that has looked like a well-oiled machine through its first two games.
Even if the Fighting Irish come out flat on Saturday coming off their emotional win over Michigan, they should still be able to win and cover in this mismatch. The UNDER is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams and is 5-1 in Notre Dame’s last six games overall. If the defense carries over its play from the Michigan game, points will be hard to come by for Purdue.
