Virginia Tech is just 2-4 against the spread in its last six games against Georgia Tech, welcoming the Yellow Jackets to town as 8-point home favorites this weekend. The Hokies dropped out of the AP Top 25 following their disappointing 28-21 loss to East Carolina as 10-point home underdogs in Week 3. The loss was a serious letdown for Virginia Tech, coming on the heels of its 35-21 win over Ohio State in Week 2. Virginia Tech has won the last four meetings with Georgia Tech straight up, but will be facing a Yellow Jackets squad that is a perfect 3-0 SU in 2014.
No. 14 South Carolina will be gunning for a third straight win when it visits the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday night. The Gamecocks open as 21.5-point road favorites following a confidence-building 38-35 win over Georgia. The Gamecocks held off a late fourth-quarter drive by the Dawgs for the win, covering as 8.5-point underdogs to remain in the AP Top 25. Vandy posted its first win of the season in Week 3, 34-31 over Massachusetts, but failed to cover as 16.5-point home favorites. The Commodores have dropped five straight SU to South Carolina, but are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against the Gamecocks.
In other Week 4 betting action, No. 2 Oregon will look to end a two-game road losing streak when the Ducks visit Washington State as 23.5-point favorites, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. The Cougars are coming off a 59-21 win over Portland State, their first SU win in five games. No. 4 Oklahoma opened as 11.5-point road favorites against the West Virginia Mountaineers, while No. 5 Auburn travels to Kansas State as 9.5-point favorites.
