Vikings vs. Broncos 2015 odds: Unbeaten Denver solid betting favorite

The Denver Broncos will look to remain undefeated this Sunday hosting the Minnesota Vikings as solid betting favorites in Denver.

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos are 22-1 straight up and 15-8 against the spread in their last 23 regular season home games. The Broncos will try to continue that stretch of home dominance this Sunday hosting the Minnesota Vikings.

Denver is going off at -6.5 at home at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Broncos haven’t lost a regular season game at home since December 12, 2013 against the San Diego Chargers.

Despite not having the same firepower they once had with Peyton Manning under center, the Denver Broncos are still off to a 3-0 SU and ATS start to the 2015 season. The defense has been the star of the show, allowing only 16.3 points per game and coming up with some huge plays to help lead the Broncos to victory.

And while the veteran Manning hasn’t been his explosive self of old, he has proven capable of some big drives as well.

The Broncos have fared well in the month of October in recent seasons. Denver is 5-0 SU and ATS in its last five October games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

After starting the season off with a terrible 20-3 loss on the road against the San Francisco 49ers, the Minnesota Vikings have bounced back nicely with two straight wins and covers. Minnesota won both of those games by double digits, defeating Detroit 26-16 and San Diego 31-14.

The defense is holding opposing teams to 16.7 points per game, and the offense has been working nicely under Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson. The Vikings will try to snap out of an October slump that has seen the team go 2-10 SU in its last 12 October road games.

The OVER is 8-0 in Denver’s last eight October games. Sunday’s total is currently set at 43 points.

Both of these teams pride themselves on their strong defenses, and that is exactly what should take center stage in this matchup. On paper, this one has the look of a low-scoring game, which would bode well for the team getting 6.5 points.

Denver may win the game outright, but Minnesota’s defense and running game should at least keep it close.
