Panthers vs. Seahawks odds 2015: Unbeaten Carolina betting underdog at Seattle

The Carolina Panthers face their toughest test of the season so far on the road against a desperate Seattle Seahawks team this Sunday.

Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

The Carolina Panthers are 9-1 straight-up and 6-3-1 against the spread in their last 10 games overall. The one game in the loss column over that stretch came against the Seattle Seahawks on the road, where the Panthers find themselves again this Sunday.

Carolina is a 6.5-point road underdog at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last 14 games as the betting underdog, the Panthers are just 3-10-1 SU and 6-7-1 ATS.

With a 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS record to start the season, the Carolina Panthers have turned some heads early in the year. Cam Newton has led the offense to a solid 27 points per game, and the defense has allowed only 17.8 points per game.

The only knock on Carolina’s hot start is the quality of opponents the Panthers have played. Their four wins have come against teams with a combined record of 5-15 SU this season.

The Panthers have the chance to earn a signature win this week on the road against Seattle. Carolina is 0-4 SU and ATS in its last four games off a bye per the OddsShark NFL Database.

After suffering a gut-wrenching loss on the road to the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime last week, the Seattle Seahawks fell to 2-3 SU and 1-3-1 ATS on the season. All three of Seattle's losses have come on the road this year; they return home this Sunday where they are 14-1 SU and 9-5-1 ATS in their last 15 games including nine straight wins.

The Seahawks also get Marshawn Lynch back this week after the star running back missed the team's last two games with a hamstring injury.

Sunday’s total is set at 41 points. The UNDER is 10-4 in Seattle’s last 14 games as a favorite in the month of October.

Seattle is 5-0 SU and 3-1-1 ATS in its last five games against the Carolina Panthers. Factoring in the Seahawks’ dominance over Carolina, dominance at home and the desperation avoiding a 2-4 start this season, the signs seem to point to a Seahawks win and cover in this one.
