Giants vs. Eagles 2015 odds: Philly MNF betting favorite vs New York

The New York Giants will try to hold on to top spot in the NFC East Monday night when they visit the Philadelphia Eagles as betting underdogs.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are 11-3 straight up and against the spread in their last 14 games against the New York Giants. The Eagles will try to continue that dominance and move into a tie for first place in the NFC East with a win over the Giants this Monday night in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is a 5.5-point favorite at home according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The line opened with the Eagles as a 3.5-point home favorite, but action on the Eagles has moved the line to -5.5.

For the first time this season the Eagles were finally clicking on all cylinders in last week's 39-17 win over the New Orleans Saints. Sam Bradford passed for 333 yards and two touchdowns, DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews combined for 156 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and the defense forced four turnovers.

The win brought the Eagles to 2-3 SU and ATS on the season which puts them right back in the thick of the wide-open race for top spot in the NFC East. The Eagles have won 11 of their last 15 games at home. This includes a 3-0 SU and ATS run in their last three October home games, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

It took some late-game heroics, but the Giants were able to pick up their third straight win last Sunday in a 30-27 home victory over the 49ers. Eli Manning was sensational in the comeback win, passing for 441 yards and three touchdowns on a 41-for-54 passing day.

Manning’s 10-to-2 touchdown to interception ratio and strong play this season are two of the main reasons the Giants are 3-2 SU and ATS this year. New York is 0-3 SU in its last three Monday Night Football appearances.

Sunday’s total is set at 50.5 points. The OVER is 5-2 in New York’s last seven games and 8-2 in Philadelphia’s last 10 Monday Night Football games.

The Giants have won their last three games, and in the two games they lost they held fourth quarter leads and lost by a combined five points. In what looks like an evenly-matched game, the Giants should put up a fight as a 5.5-point underdog.
