Seahawks vs. 49ers 2015 odds: Seattle betting favorite in San Francisco

The Seattle Seahawks look to get their season back on track with a win on the road this Thursday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are 5-1 straight up and 6-0 against the spread in their last six games against the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks hope to continue their dominance over San Francisco on the road facing the 49ers this Thursday night.

Seattle is a 6.5-point road favorite on Thursday according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This line opened with the Seahawks as a 4-point favorite, but the line on Seattle has been bet up to -6.5 throughout the week.

With a 23-20 lead at home over the Carolina Panthers, many believed that the Seattle Seahawks would shut the door on defense and lock up a win.

Instead, the Panthers drove down the field for a game-winning touchdown, dropping the Seahawks to 2-4 SU and 1-4-1 ATS. It may still be too early to hit the panic button in Seattle, but this team isn’t the juggernaut on both sides of the ball that went 12-4 SU and 10-6 ATS one season ago.

On the betting board, the Seahawks have dominated this head-to-head series with an 8-0 ATS record in their last eight games against San Francisco. But in San Francisco, Seattle is just 1-5 SU over its last six games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Losing three straight games to Pittsburgh, Arizona and Green Bay by a combined score of 107 to 28, the San Francisco 49ers were looking like a laughingstock early in the season. But over their last two games the 49ers have covered the spread in a 30-27 loss on the road against the New York Giants and beaten Baltimore outright 25-20. San Francisco is 2-4 SU and 3-3 ATS on the season.

Thursday night’s total is set at 42 points. The UNDER is 8-2 in San Francisco’s last 10 games at home and 5-0 in the last five games between the Seahawks and 49ers.

On paper the Seahawks figure to be the clearly superior team heading into this rivalry game. But Seattle has struggled in all but one of its games so far this season, and with the 49ers playing well of late and getting so many points at home, San Francisco looks like the play at +6.5 on Thursday night.
