Cowboys vs. Giants 2015 odds: Dallas a Week 7 underdog against New York

The Dallas Cowboys will try to get their season back on track this Sunday with a win as road underdogs against the New York Giants.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys are 5-0 straight up and 3-2 against the spread in their last five games against the New York Giants. The Cowboys hope to break their three-game losing streak and extend their winning streak over the Giants this Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Dallas is a 3.5-point underdog on the road, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Coming off a bye week in recent years hasn’t helped the Cowboys, who are 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five games after a bye.

Injuries are an unfortunate part of football, and the Cowboys haven’t been able to navigate their way through them. Since starting the year off with two wins, the Cowboys are 0-3 SU and ATS over their last three games with two losses by double-digits.

Matt Cassell will take over at quarterback for the injured Tony Romo this Sunday after preparing in the starting role over the bye week. Dallas' defense gets a nice boost with the return of Randy Gregory from his ankle injury.

While the Cowboys have enjoyed recent success against the Giants, they historically haven’t fared well against their rival in October. Dallas is 2-9 SU and 1-9-1 ATS in its last 11 October games against the Giants per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Giants had their first all-around bad game of 2015 last Monday night. Despite getting a solid performance from the defense including three interceptions, the Giants fell to the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7.

The offense that had scored at least 24 points in the team's previous five games was held to just seven points and Eli Manning was held to just 189 passing yards with two interceptions. New York will try to bounce back at home, where it is 7-1 SU over its last eight games in October.

Sunday’s total is set at 45 points. The OVER is 6-0 in the last six games between the Cowboys and Giants.

With Randy Gregory and Greg Hardy on the line, the Cowboys could give Eli Manning another tough day at the office. But still ravaged by injuries on the offensive side, Dallas likely won't be able to keep up on offense, giving the Giants the edge as a 3.5-point favorite.
