Eagles vs. Panthers 2015 odds: Undefeated Carolina a Sunday night favorite

The Carolina Panthers will try to remain undefeated this Sunday night hosting the Philadelphia Eagles as field goal betting favorites.

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

The Carolina Panthers are 14-1 straight up and 10-4-1 against the spread in their last 15 games as the betting favorite at home. The Panthers are a slight favorite this Sunday night playing host to the Philadelphia Eagles at Bank of America Stadium.

Carolina is going off at minus-3 at home, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. If the line doesn’t move before game time, this would be the fourth time this season that the Panthers were a three-point favorite, going 3-0 SU and ATS in the previous three instances.

Taking criticisms that they were the weakest of the undefeated teams to heart, the Carolina Panthers set out to make a statement last week and did just that in a 27-23 road win over the Seattle Seahawks. The win brought Carolina to 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS on the season and should solidify the team as a legitimate contender.

Cam Newton has played very well this season with eight passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns through the Panthers' first five games.

The Panthers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games played in October per the OddsShark NFL Database.

After getting off to a 1-3 SU and ATS start, the Philadelphia Eagles were being written off by many fans and bettors and the media was calling Chip Kelly's job security into question. Two blowout wins over New Orleans and the New York Giants later and the Eagles are suddenly back on track and sitting atop the NFC East standings.

Running back DeMarco Murray has finally found his groove with 246 total yards and two touchdowns over the last two games. Philadelphia is 4-1 SU and ATS in its last five games against Carolina.

Sunday’s total is set at 46 points. The UNDER is 6-2 in Carolina’s last eight home games and 3-0 in Philadelphia’s last three road games.

This should be a great game between two darkhorse contenders in the NFC. It could go either way, but with home field advantage and Cam Newton in the zone, the Panthers should get the job done as a three-point favorite on Sunday night.
