Bengals vs. Steelers 2015 odds: Pick’em betting matchup for AFC North rivals

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to return this Sunday when they Pittsburgh Steelers host the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals in a pick’em contest.

Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 8-1 straight up and 7-1-1 against the spread in their last nine games coming off a loss the week before.

The line for Sunday’s game between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati is set as a pick’em at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Four of the last five games in this head-to-head matchup have had a spread of three points or less.

For the most part the Steelers did a decent job of staying afloat while quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was out. Including the game in which Roethlisberger was injured against St. Louis, the Steelers went 3-2 SU and 3-1-1 ATS while going off as the betting underdog in all five games, picking up a road win in San Diego and a win at home against Arizona along the way.

Barring any setbacks this week in practice, Roethlisberger is set to return under center for the Steelers this week and would give the team a much-needed boost on offense.

Pittsburgh is 8-2 SU and ATS in its last 10 games against the Cincinnati Bengals per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Bengals entered their bye week last week on a 6-0 SU and 5-0-1 ATS run that includes road wins over Baltimore and Buffalo and a win at home against Seattle. Winning games by an average margin of victory of 10 points per game, the Bengals certainly look the part of a legitimate contender; but some fans and bettors still aren’t convinced.

A road win over the Steelers would help Cincinnati to continue to make that case. The Bengals are just 2-8 SU and ATS in their last 10 road games coming off of a bye.

Sunday’s total is set at 48 points. The UNDER is 5-0 in Pittsburgh’s last five games and 5-2 in the last seven games between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.

In their last six games with Ben Roethlisberger returning from an injury, the Pittsburgh Steelers are 2-4 SU. Big Ben isn’t likely to be at 100% right out of the gate, and the Bengals have proven themselves against all comers so far this season. Cincinnati deserves to be the play in this rivalry pick’em game.
