Seahawks vs. Bengals 2015 odds: Cincinnati betting favorite riding fast start

The Cincinnati Bengals look to remain undefeated hosting the Seattle Seahawks as small odds favorites this Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bengals are a perfect 4-0 straight up and against the spread to start off the 2015 season. The Bengals face a tough test at home this Sunday when they host the Seattle Seahawks at Paul Brown Stadium.

Cincinnati is a 3-point betting favorite in Sunday’s game, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. After opening as a 1-point favorite, betting action has moved the Bengals up to minus-3.

It doesn't get any better than a 4-0 SU and ATS start, and the Bengals improved to that record with a convincing 36-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Cincinnati is scoring 30.3 points per game while holding opponents to just 19.3 points per game so far in 2015.

While the early season run has been impressive, none of the teams the Bengals have beaten thus far are considered to be Super Bowl contenders as the Seahawks are.

This game will serve as a good litmus test to see if the Bengals can beat one of the NFL’s elite teams. The Bengals are 12-2-1 SU and 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 games as a regular season home favorite, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Seahawks have bounced back from an 0-2 SU and ATS start with wins in their last two games, shutting out Chicago 26-0 and beating Detroit 13-10 last week. But all isn't well just yet in Seattle. While the defense seems to be back in form with the return of Kam Chancellor, the offense hasn't looked sharp with only 18.7 points per game over the last three weeks.

Seattle also needs to show that it can win on the road this season after starting the season off with two road losses. The Seahawks are 0-6 SU and 0-4-2 ATS in their last six road games against AFC North opponents.

Sunday’s total is currently set at 43.5 points. The OVER is 5-1 in the last six games between the Bengals and the Seahawks.

Seattle's defense is good enough to slow down the hot start Cincinnati's offense is off to this season. But with the status of Marshawn Lynch still unclear and the quality of play the Bengals have consistently shown this season, Cincinnati should continue to be a safe play at home as a 3-point favorite.
