Vikings vs. Raiders odds 2015: Minnesota visits Oakland on ATS streak

Two of the NFL’s best young quarterbacks clash this Sunday when Teddy Bridgewater and the Vikings visit favored Derek Carr and the Raiders.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings are 6-1 straight up and 7-0 against the spread over their last seven games. The Vikings will try to stay hot this Sunday when they visit the Oakland Raiders.

Minnesota is a 2.5-point road underdog on Sunday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This is the third time that the Vikings have been an underdog this season, going 1-1 SU and 2-0 ATS in the previous two instances.

After missing all but one game last season, Adrian Peterson didn’t need much time to get back into the swing of things in 2015. The star running back leads the NFL with 758 rushing yards on the season and has helped lead the Vikings to an impressive 6-2 SU and 7-1 ATS record on the year.

Minnesota is 4-0 SU and ATS over its last four games including two road wins over Detroit and Chicago.

The favored team is 1-5 SU and ATS in the last six games between the Raiders and the Vikings per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Raiders are no longer the doormat bettors have grown accustomed to seeing them as over the past decade. Oakland is 4-3 SU and 5-2 ATS over its last seven games with all three of the losses coming by six points or less; two on last-second field goals.

Over the last three weeks the offense has exploded to the tune of 36.3 points per game, covering the spread in all three of those games. The Raiders are 5-2 SU and ATS in their last seven games at home.

Sunday’s total is set at 44 points. The OVER is 9-2 in Oakland’s last 11 games and 3-0 in the last three games between Oakland and Minnesota.

Both of these teams are going in the right direction, and both seem to have found long term solutions at quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater and Derek Carr.

If this game winds up being a shootout, the Raiders will probably come away with the victory. But with the superior defense and running game, look for Minnesota to control the tempo and come away with an upset win in Oakland.
