Texans vs. Bengals 2015 odds: Streaking Cincinnati double-digit MNF favorite

The Cincinnati Bengals are a heavy favorite to remain undefeated this Monday night when they host the Houston Texans in the primetime matchup.

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bengals are 8-0 straight up and 7-0-1 against the spread through their first eight games of the season. The Bengals will go for another win and cover this Monday night when they host the Houston Texans at Paul Brown Stadium.

Cincinnati is an 11-point favorite on Monday according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This is just the second time this season that the Bengals have been favored by more than 3.5 points.

Last week on Thursday Night Football the Cincinnati Bengals rose to the task of being listed as a 13-point favorite by blowing out the Cleveland Browns 31-10 for another win and cover. Cincinnati has been excellent on both sides of the ball, winning games by an average margin of victory of just under 11 points per game with 28.6 points per game on offense and 17.8 per game allowed on defense.

With a Top 5 scoring offense and scoring defense and a perfect record, the Bengals certainly have the look of a legitimate Super Bowl contender. After last week’s blowout win, the Bengals are 18-3-1 SU and 16-4-2 ATS over their last 22 home games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Texans went into their bye week on a positive note going 2-1 SU and ATS over their last three games with a 20-6 win over the Tennessee Titans. The win was a refreshing change of pace for a defense that had allowed 28.4 points per game in the seven games before that one.

Even with the recent wins over Tennessee and Jacksonville, Houston is still just 3-5 SU and ATS in 2015. The Texans are 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six games against the Bengals.

Monday night’s total is set at 47 points. The OVER is 7-3 in Cincinnati’s last 10 games at home.

When it comes to picking sides against the spread, sometimes it’s best not to overthink it. The Bengals have been one of the safest and most consistent bets in the NFL this season, and as long as they keep rolling, bettors should keep enjoying the ride. Take Cincinnati as the heavy chalk favorite on Monday night.
