Titans vs. Jaguars 2015 odds: Jacksonville betting favorite vs Tennessee Thursday

The Jacksonville Jaguars will go after their third win in four games this Thursday night when they host the Tennessee Titans as betting favorites.

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars are 5-4 straight up and 7-1-1 against the spread in their last nine games against the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars host their division rival this Thursday night in Jacksonville.

Jacksonville is a 3-point favorite at home on Thursday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Before going off as a favorite this week, Jacksonville had been the betting underdog in 43 of its last 45 games.

After years of hopelessness, things finally seem to be going slightly in the right direction for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS over their last three games with an upset at home over the Buffalo Bills and on the road against the Baltimore Ravens.

Quarterback Blake Bortles has taken a big step forward this season with 19 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions through nine games after having an 11-to-17 touchdown to interception ratio in 14 games last year.

The Jaguars are just 2-5 SU and ATS in their last seven November home games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Tennessee offense continued its struggles last week when the team lost 27-10 at home to the Carolina Panthers. The Titans are 2-7 SU and 4-5 ATS this season and have been held to 14 points or fewer in six of those nine games.

Rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota has shown flashes of brilliance, but he doesn’t have much with which to work. Tennessee is 2-16 SU and 5-13 ATS over its last 18 games.

Thursday night’s total is set at 43 points. The UNDER is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and 3-0 in the last three games in this head-to-head series.

A 3-6 SU Jacksonville team squaring off against a 2-7 SU Tennessee team isn’t exactly an ideal primetime matchup, but it will have to do this Thursday night. Bettors will see two promising young quarterbacks under center, and Bortles will be tested against a pass defense that ranks third in the NFL allowing just 213.8 yards per game.

Jacksonville looks a bit further along in the rebuild process and should be able to get a win and cover over Tennessee at home.
