Colts vs. Falcons 2015 odds and lines: Indy betting underdog at Atlanta

The Atlanta Falcons will try to break out of their losing streak this Sunday as home betting favorites against the Indianapolis Colts.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts are 8-2 straight up and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games coming out of their bye week. The Colts will try to continue that trend and earn an important win this Sunday on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.

Indianapolis is a 5.5-point road underdog on Sunday according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last 10 games as a road underdog the Colts are 3-7 SU and 5-5 ATS.

With a 27-24 upset win over the Denver Broncos in their last game, the Indianapolis Colts broke out of a three-game losing streak and brought their record on the season to 4-5 SU and ATS.

Unfortunately for the Colts, Andrew Luck suffered an abdominal injury in the fourth quarter that will keep him out for two to six weeks. Indianapolis will turn back to 40-year old Matt Hasselbeck under center to try to keep the Colts’ playoff hopes alive.

The Colts are 2-0 SU in Hasselbeck’s two starts this season. Indianapolis is also 9-2 ATS in its last 11 games as a road underdog in the month of November per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Atlanta Falcons started their season off on a 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS run, looking particularly strong on offense while averaging 32.4 points per game over that stretch. But over the team’s last four games, facing a pretty soft schedule of New Orleans, Tennessee, Tampa Bay and San Francisco, Atlanta has gone just 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS and averaged 16.8 PPG.

The Falcons had a bye week last week to try to sort things out and get back on track. Atlanta is 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in its last six games after a bye.

Sunday’s total is set at 47.5 points. The OVER is 3-0 in the last three meetings between the Colts and the Falcons in Atlanta.

If Atlanta comes out of its bye clicking again on offense, the Colts won’t be able to keep up without Andrew Luck. But considering how the Falcons have looked over the last month against beatable competition and how the Colts have managed to keep it simple and win with Hasselbeck under center this year, Indianapolis could be the play at +5.5 in this one.
