Steelers vs. Seahawks 2015 odds: Pittsburgh looks to buck betting trends in Seattle

The Pittsburgh Steelers will try to extend their winning streak to three games this Sunday as underdogs on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The road team is 1-6 straight up and against the spread in the last seven games between the Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are hoping to buck that trend with a road win on Sunday in Seattle.

Pittsburgh is a 3.5-point road underdog at CenturyLink Field according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last seven games as a road underdog in the month of November, the Steelers are 4-3 SU and 6-1 ATS.

The Steelers have been hit hard by the injury bug all season long, but they’ve managed to stay afloat with a 6-4 SU and 5-3-2 ATS record through 10 games. Forced into action in Pittsburgh’s last game against Cleveland when Landry Jones went down with an injury, Ben Roethlisberger was extremely effective in a 30-9 win over the Browns.

Many believed that this would be an off year for the Steelers defense, but the unit has played well allowing only 19.1 points per game this season.

Over the team’s last 10 games against opponents in the NFC West, the Steelers are 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Since starting the season off 2-4 SU and 1-4-1 ATS, the Seahawks have turned things around recently with a 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS record over their last four games. Of course, it helps that two of those four games came against the hapless San Francisco 49ers, resulting in two double-digit wins for Seattle.

The Seahawks are 0-4 SU and 0-3-1 ATS in their four games against teams that currently have a winning record. Seattle will try to earn its first win over a solid team this Sunday against the Steelers.

Sunday’s total is set at 46 points. The OVER is 12-2 in Seattle’s last 14 home games in the month of November.

Pittsburgh’s defense has played well throughout most of the season, and the offense will be a lot better with Roethlisberger back under center. With Pittsburgh coming off a bye week and Marshawn Lynch now out for Seattle, the Steelers should be able to keep this one close and cover the spread as a 3.5-point underdog.
