NFL odds 2015, Week 9: Raiders, Dolphins among betting underdogs

In-conference betting matchups like Oakland at Pittsburgh and Miami at Buffalo in Week 9 of the NFL season could have huge playoff implications down the line.

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Oakland Raiders are 4-2 straight up and against the spread over their last six games and currently hold one of the wild card spots in the AFC. The Raiders visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in a potentially key game in the AFC standings.

Oakland is a 4.5-point road underdog, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Steelers got Ben Roethlisberger back last week only to lose star running back Le’Veon Bell for the season with a knee injury. In five meetings between these two teams since 2006, the Oakland Raiders are 4-1 SU and ATS despite being an underdog in every game.

In another important game in the wide open AFC, the Miami Dolphins visit the Buffalo Bills as a 3-point road underdog. Miami is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games coming off a loss while Buffalo is 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games following a loss as a favorite. The Bills are just 1-3 SU and ATS over their last four games since starting the season off on a 2-1 SU and ATS run.

The Denver Broncos flexed their muscles on defense last week with an impressive 29-10 win at home against the Green Bay Packers. On Sunday, Peyton Manning and the undefeated Broncos head to Indianapolis to take on Manning’s old team in the Indianapolis Colts. Denver opened as a 3-point road favorite and is 9-3 SU in its last 12 games on the road in November according to the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Dallas Cowboys will try to snap a five-game losing streak on Sunday night when they host the Philadelphia Eagles. The road team has gone 7-1 ATS in the last eight games between the Eagles and the Cowboys. Philadelphia is a 2.5-point road favorite in this one despite a 2-5 SU record in its last seven games against Dallas.

Two underachieving squads clash on Monday night when the Chicago Bears visit the San Diego Chargers. San Diego is 5-14 ATS over its last 19 games including a 1-7 ATS record in its last eight games as a favorite. The Chargers will try to turn things around as a 4-point favorite on Monday night at home.
