Eagles vs. Cowboys 2015 odds: Philly betting favorite over rival Dallas

The Philadelphia Eagles look to stay in the hunt for the NFC East title this week with a win on the road as betting favorites vs the last-place Dallas Cowboys.

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are 7-1 straight up and against the spread in their last eight games in the month of November. The Eagles hope to get their November in 2015 off to a good start this Sunday night on the road against the Dallas Cowboys.

Philadelphia is a 2.5-point road favorite, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last five road games against the Cowboys, the Eagles are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS.

After losing their last game on the road against the Carolina Panthers 27-16, the Eagles entered their bye week with an underwhelming record of 3-4 SU and ATS.

Fortunately for the Eagles, the team is still very much alive in the NFC East with the division currently being led by the 4-4 SU New York Giants. Philadelphia comes out of its bye with a very manageable schedule over its next four games at Dallas, home against Miami and Tampa Bay and at Detroit.

Dating back to 2001, the Eagles are 12-2 SU and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games after a bye per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Dallas Cowboys put together a fantastic effort on defense last week, holding the Seattle Seahawks to only 13 points. That was good enough to earn the Cowboys a cover as a 4.5-point underdog, but not the win as the offense only managed 220 total yards and 12 points in the team’s 13-12 loss.

Since losing Tony Romo to injury, the Cowboys are 0-5 SU and 4-1 ATS, and they’ve fallen from the top of the NFC East to the bottom. Dallas has gone just 1-7 ATS in its last eight home games in the month of November.

Sunday night’s total is set at 44.5 points. The UNDER is 6-1 in Philadelphia’s last seven games and 4-2 in Dallas’ last six games.

Dallas’ last win came on the road against Philadelphia in a 20-10 victory back in Week 2. While the Cowboys have the defense to keep this one close, Philadelphia’s superior offense and the bye week the Eagles had to prepare should give Philadelphia the edge as a small road favorite in this one.
