Buccaneers vs. Rams 2015 odds: Tampa Bay betting underdog at St. Louis for ‘TNF’

Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will go for an upset win on the road this Thursday night as betting underdogs against the St. Louis Rams.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 0-7 straight up and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games against opponents from the NFC West. The Buccaneers will try to end that streak of futility on the road this Thursday night in a visit with the St. Louis Rams.

Tampa Bay is a 1.5-point road underdog at Edward Jones Dome, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This is the first game in St. Louis’ last five that the Rams are going off as the betting favorite.

With last week's 24-17 home loss to the New Orleans Saints, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' slim chances of making the playoffs took a major hit. Still, at 6-7 SU and 7-6 ATS, Tampa Bay's season so far would have to be classified as a success, just one year removed from a 2-14 SU and 7-9 ATS campaign.

Jameis Winston appears to be the right choice for the team as the quarterback of the future, and head coach Lovie Smith has done a good job getting the most out of his defense despite a lack of star personnel.

The road team is 3-8 SU in the last 11 games between the Rams and Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is 2-9 ATS in its last 11 December road games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

The St. Louis Rams finally showed some signs of life last week, breaking out of an 0-5 SU and 0-4-1 ATS slump with a 21-14 win at home over the Detroit Lions. The 21 points scored were promising for a team that had averaged just nine points per game over its previous four games.

Before the losing streak, St. Louis was 3-1 SU and ATS in its previous four games, and will try to end the season on a similar hot streak in its last three games.

Thursday night’s total is set at 41 points. The UNDER is 3-0 in Tampa Bay’s last three games and 8-1 in St. Louis’ last nine games.

St. Louis is playing its third straight game at home, and should be playing a bit more relaxed after picking up a win last week. Look for the Rams to pick up another win this Thursday at home over the Bucs.
